Friends of the Griffin
Welcome to our friends of the Griffin page where you can see
what some of our customers get upto when they join us here at the Griffin Inn.
We had a wonderful time on Mother's Day. Mums could relax while the kids
were entertained by a clown. Everyone really enjoyed themselves.
Many thanks to Dave for a great performance
Thanks to the fabulous entertainment by Rigor Mortis live
60's style band (pictured left); our Quiz Master and Compere, Keith;
our staff and, of course, our customers; the recent 60's Night charity
event at The Griffin, was a great success and raised funds for our chosen
charities: Barkisland Parish church Council and TIA Greyhound and
Lurcher Rescue of Cragg Vale.
The Carpet Mill at Pellon Lane kindly donated two rugs, one which
was put into the raffle and a beautiful hand-made Afghan Rug, valued at
£70, was auctioned for £25.
The Griffin Inn provided prizes of a Meal
for Two people and a selection of wines, and two of our customers
(who wish to remain anonymous) donated wine for the raffle. A total of
22 meals were ordered from our 60's Specials Board and £1 was donated to
the funds from each meal. A total of £150 was raised which was split
equally between the two charities.
It was a fun-filled night, as can
be seen in the picture (right) of just a few of the 'ravers'!
Watch this space for more fun events which are being planned for the
next six months, for example: Murder,Mystery Weekend, Medieval Banquet,
Comedy & Curry Night.
